A Flood of Blood

You flow through my veins.

You’re in my blood like a flood
You flow through my veins
In mild times a drizzle
Then other times it rains.

As smooth as a barometer
Forecasting the weather
It pumps up in velocity
When we are together.

When you’re near I can hear
My pulse pauses, and then I palpitate
Better use the antidote
Before it gets too late.

Lying here in limbo-land
My eyes begin to flutter
Then you flow into my veins
It feels like bread and butter.

I know we are connected
Who can deny the fact?
It starts with our simpatico
And ends with the next act.

Tease and talk are typical
Laughter is liquid gold
Let’s get intravenous
Instead of growing old.

Walk and talk in juxtapose
Learn to live each day
Side by side in satisfaction
With wings, we’ll fly away.
