A Leap of Faith

Charm or impropriety

On a whim out on a limb
I dangle on a thread
caught and creamed and cauterised
or maybe end up dead.

Intangible yet tactile
faith and porous piety
a leap of faith considered
is it charm or impropriety.

Smooth subtle suggestions
temptation tantalised
the meaning of the mystery
tried then realised.

Paragraphs of principles
rules regulations too
empirical evidence
try to teach me something new.

The trance of other dances
glide across the floor
is there something that I missed
please play one more encore.

A soupçon or a snippet
a sniff of evidence
smoothing out the edges
then dropping my defence.

The tease and ease of touching
electricity in the air
supercharged by lightening
how can love be fair?

Stretching out and feeling
a pure leap of faith
throwing caution to the wind
chances are it won’t be safe.

Fulsome and forgiving
frail and fragile too
a belief in the unprovable
beyond the tried and true.
