Abracadabra

Things have changed.

Pulling rabbits from a hat
A word meant to surprise.
Abracadabra rolls off my tongue.
Right before your eyes

Its magic meant to astound
A trick to shock your senses
I am now bewildered and amazed.
Right through your defences

Changing in a puff of smoke
Arcane and misunderstood
I never meant to harm you.
But only to do you good.

Abracadabra, the game has changed.
And nothing as it seems.
You are with me in the daytime.
And see me in your dreams.

It may be phantasmagorical.
An illusion or apparition
You may wake up and wonder.
If you suffer from a delusion

Magic floats before your eyes
and drifts into your being.
And then becomes a part of you
A unique way of seeing.

I whispered love songs in your ear.
Though you are far away
Abracadabra, things have changed.
I’ve now come home to stay.
