Adagio

Merged with other sounds

The beat was indiscernible
And merged with other sounds
The sea sang and wind whistled
On their daily rounds.

In the quiet of nightfall
Strings strummed an adagio
Poised between the light and dark
Mystical and slow.

The music moved like a night breeze
And brushed my sonorous senses
Clear and mellow rich and full
No excuses or pretences.

Softly in the corridors
Reverberant in the rooms
Drifting through the doorways
Dancing in beautiful costumes.

Much like meditation
A quiet symphony of sound
The adagio seeps into my mind
Quiet, slow deep and profound.

In the trees the music drifts
Dancing in the light
Pearls set in a lacework
Of rhythm and delight.

Each day I listen to the wind
At night the soft caress
Of the slow adagio
As sound and music coalesce.
