In a group they have a name
From antelopes to zebras
in a group they have a name
many are unusual
some are just the same.
Antelopes come in herds
Ants in army’s colonies swarms and states
then there is the name shrewdness
given to a company of apes.
There’s a pace herd or drove of asses
a troop flange or congress of baboons
a colony and culture of bacteria
and a cete of badgers bouncing on balloons.
Then there’s a battery of barracudas
a shoal of Bass and colony of bats
a sleuth of bears and a family of beavers
a colony of and a cloud or horde of gnats.
Now I won’t persist with a rhyming list
it may take me forever and a day
so here is the rest most should stand the test
and add up to a staggering array:
A flock flight or parcel of Birds
A chatter of Budgerigars
A herd troop gang or obstinacy of Buffalo
A swarm rabble flutter rainbow or kaleidoscope of butterflies
A caravan flock or train of camel
An army of caterpillars
A pounce kindle litter or intrigue of kittens
A clutter chowder colony or comfort of cats
A herd drove drift or mob of cattle
A coalition of cheetahs
A brood clutch flock run or peep of chickens
A clutch or chattering of chicks

An intrusion of cockroaches
A kine or klink of cows
A pack train band or rout of coyotes
