Bent Light

Turning into a rainbow

Splashed by a passing sunbeam
bent into halos of gold
then turning to a rainbow
shining both brave and bold.

Refracted through a sun shower
bent light through tears from the sky
formed into an archer’s bow
arrows fly silently by.

I watched you eclipse then disappear
behind storm clouds in your path
then restored by stunning sunlight
another encore aftermath.

Phenomena’s in special moments
whisking my mind away
to treasures buried deep below
when rainbows come out to play.

In moments eclipsed by beauty
fresh air and saltwater breeze
refractions copied down on chrome
star beams among twilight trees.

The colors hum o’er the ocean
the gray sky merges with the sea
crowned by a rounded rainbow
arching both wild and free.

The view resonates in my body
my heart and deep into my soul
a composite of new beginnings
awakenings and distant drum roll.

In a sea of tranquility
experienced when time stops still
the birth of a new rainbow
from my vantage point up on the hill.
