Catastrophic Bushfire Conditions

Continue through the night

Catastrophic bushfire conditions,
The East coast is alight,
The choking smoke and the emissions,
Continue through the night.

Unparalleled pyrogenics,
As the atmosphere explodes,
A firestorm pandemic,
In many different modes.

Lives are lost and the cost,
Of dwellings burnt to dust,
A catastrophic impost,
In god we place our trust.

Birds animals and wildlife,
And all before its path,
Take the brunt of the strife,
And ashes in the aftermath.

People retreat in terror,
Firefighters flee,
There’s no room for error,
A fire plan’s the key.

I watch it all in horror,
Its nature biting back,
Flames that leap in furore,
The sky is painted black.

The Government’s in denial,
That this is climate change,
As the disasters spiral,
They don’t think this is strange.

Fingers on the purse strings,
Whilst liberty is lost,
Catastrophic bushfire conditions brings,
Burnt bridges, now uncrossed.
