Christmas
Is for children.
Christmas is for children.
And family celebrations
Santa and his reindeer
Music and good vibrations.
Giving and accepting
And showing open love
Is a certain recipe
For freeing the peace dove.
Christ was born in Bethlehem
The holy bible says
The joy of a new baby
It is really what it is.
The suspense and the excitement
Remember lying in bed awake
And just as you nod off
It’s Dad, for heaven’s sake.
How could that possibly be
Is Dad one of Santa’s helpers?
And where are all the reindeer
Is it left up to the elders?
Questions of curiosity
Melt in the early morn
Rifling through the stocking
Before the sun and dawn.
Parent’s aunts and uncles
Grandparents and family friends
Are all good for a present
Chocolates and odds and ends.
Eating the heavenly food
And singing Christmas songs
All is well with the world
Rights have replaced wrongs.
Christmas is for children
Watch a child’s eyes light up
Love is alive and brimming
And fills up our Christmas cup.
So, to all my friends and family
I send to you today
Peace and love and harmony
From me, so far away,
