Clouds
In shades of palettes of the sky
Clouds floating in the heavens
drifting past shafts of shimmering light
emptying rain in sparkling dots
clouds merging into the dark night.
Clouds opening between blue skies
glowing halos and casting rainbows
knives of lightening and rolling thunder
responding to the highs and the lows.
Clouds painted pink by sunsets
in shades of palettes of the sky
shifting like ghosts past pillars and posts
disappearing in the night with a sigh.
Clouds fill up the celestial canvas
in an array of sensual shapes
and close off the sun moon and daylight
stretched o’er the sky in darkened drapes.
Clouds can creep into the scenery
and be moved by the merging fronts
the hot and the cold form up and fold
dark clouds galloping on hunts.
Clouds made up of glittering mists
drawn up by the heat of the sun
from oceans and lakes and rivers it takes
moisture in miniscule drops one by one.
Clouds skimming along wind blown
some disappearing turning to mist
reforming in rolling rumbles
and by sprays of bright sunlight kissed.
Clouds captured on canvas by artists
and frozen by photographic stills
far up in the sky o’er the wild oceans
and peering boldly behind rugged hills.
Clouds are my inspiration
when I lay on my back in the grass
and gazed up on high into the endless sky
watching clouds change shape as they pass.
