Colours
Painted with deft care
Colours brighten up my life
I see them everywhere
The morning-muted colours
Painted with deft care.
The sun in reds and yellows
Brightens up the scene
Shadows in leafy hideaways
Are cool muted and serene.
The dappled light under the trees
Dances on my senses
Silhouettes lights and shades
Filter through my lenses.
The water on a windy day
Sparkles like shattered pearls
The waves become iridescent
As each one unfurls.
Leaves pick up the sunlight
And shimmer ‘neath the moon
The mauves and hues of evening
Time for me to swoon.
The colours that are evident
And change all of the time
Fills my heart with harmony
Are cool clear and sublime.
You colour up my morning
And brighten up my day
We meet every day at dawn
With words I like to say.
