Connection

To simplicity

Photograph by Author. Sunrise at the Cabin.

My connection is a reflection.
Of the earth, the sea, and the sky
And the care that I share.
Until the day I die

Time to sit and contemplate
And spend some time alone.
This time at the cabin
A place I call my own.

The joy of being by myself
A place for contemplation
It fills my heart with love and happiness.
Comfort and satisfaction.

Right now, I do appreciate it.
The track I’ve walked alone
The chance I’ve had to find myself
By being on my own.

Fruits of flesh and fantasy
The nectar and the juice
It feeds my appetite and not my soul.
It is now of little use.

The connection with simplicity
No instants happen here.
The sun rises after seven.
The air is fresh and clear.

There’s delicate frost sparkling in the sun.
The air is fresh and cold.
No radio or appliances
A place for the brave and bold

Yet this is where it started.
And where the end is too.
Put some more wood on the fire.
Then walk into the blue.
