Cosy
The fire is softly crackling
It’s easy to be pleased by nature
away for a year or a day
spending time in the vast and blue beyond
is where I love to stay.
Outside rain is gently falling
rap tap tapping on the roof
inside the fire is softly crackling
cosy, safe and waterproof.
Echoes of bird’s calls surround the valley
wind whispers through the silvery leaf’s
cosy in the rosy comfort of the cabin
aligned with natures magic reliefs.
Worries wash away with each droplet
feelings of happiness abound
out in Jerrong it never takes long
for peace to be truly found.
Lost reminiscing in the moment
the sounds of silence are supreme
carried away on the wings of nature
to places seen in a dream.
Carpets of cooling leaf’s beneath colonnades of trees
new growth pushes gently from the ground
stand still and hear a chorus of nature
reverberating yet making no sound.
Memories mingled with the magic
of times so very long ago
washed by waves of contentment
the reaping of seeds we sow.
Outside rain is gently falling
I’m cosy and am what I am
silver light slips through the raindrops
drawing reflections on the dam.
A sweet repast from the fast
a journey into the quiet
rocked in the cradles of nature
to smiles of pure delight.
