Day of Beauty

A poem of blessings

Streams of yesterday
have passed beneath my bridge
I arrive at this day of beauty
both satisfied and rich.

I am thankful for my eyes
those have absorbed the bliss
of the nuances of nature
as I sit and reminisce.

It’s not the destination
or the path I’ve trodden
but the beauty in my mind
continuing to broaden.

Facets of fascination
glint like this new day
suffusing me with satisfaction
words can never say.

The world slips backwards
a perfect reversal
the futures growing in the sky
no need for a rehearsal.

Without expectations
or races to be won
time to take in the beauty
with no one to rely upon.

Moments of submission
transform into acceptance
my mission is a vision
in the dance of chance.

The swirling streams of yesterday
have passed beneath my bridge
I’ve reached the day of beauty
both satisfied and rich.
