Poetic Essences

Delicate

Subtle.

As subtle as the silence
In delicate delight
Captured in a heartbeat
As day slips into night.

It’s often imperceptible
Too subtle to be seen
Intricate and exquisite
Far more than routine.

It happens at the break of the day
And in soft evening hues
Only seen in nature
Not in the evening news.

The nuances of life
Rarely seen hardly heard
The whispers of the wind
The soft song of a bird.

It may be eagles drifting
Across the windy sky
Water turns into diamonds
White clouds hurrying by.

Or is it how you touched me
And looked into my eyes
I saw the mirrors of your soul
Look up and seek the skies.

You floated in perception
In a diaphanous dream
Then vanish into vacancy
Sweet thoughts I live on seem.

Scents subtle and sensuous
Pervade my heart and soul
Like a thief maneuvering
Testing myself control.

In a flower like a shower
My mood bounces once more
A meeting that is fleeting
Heartbeats on the shore.
