Destiny and Fate
And good fortune
Is it serendipity?
A coincidence or fate
Or the day you met me.
Completely by mistake.
Fate can be a window.
An opportunity opening
A moment left in limbo
Expectation beckoning.
We are meeting by pure chance.
By providence or destiny
A turn of the head, a glance
A simple case of chemistry.
Destiny can be an accident.
Or a long shot in the dark
An action without precedent
An instantaneous spark.
Dark mornings illuminated
By lightening or the sun
Sanctified and consecrated
When you’re the only one.
Flying across the sky
Or diving into the earth
Being up on high
From birth unto the dearth.
Fate, destiny, and good fortune
Whispered promises too
A fortune-telling rune
Something we never knew.
Chance good luck and fortuity
An unplanned coincidence
Brevity then longevity
And a feeling serendipitous.
