Embracing
Happy smiles.
Hand in hand on the sand
A sunny day of love
Embracing happy smiles
And warmth from up above
Past the fast and furious,
A place where I reside,
and explore the curious,
on the lighter side.
Dips and deviations,
Pieces from the past,
Knowing limitations,
And that pangs don’t last.
Pantomimes and principles,
Dancing in the dark,
New exciting visuals,
A wander in the park.
Understanding attitudes,
Inches turn to miles,
Expanding my latitudes,
Embracing happy smiles.
Lying down on the lawn,
Watching clouds fly by,
Embracing a brand-new dawn,
Hearing breezes sigh.
Tempering the tried and true,
Trying to outlast,
Memories of being blue,
And flying far too fast.
Languid times of being in love,
A lazy afternoon,
Far away from dismay
There is a time to swoon.
Exploring open spaces,
Where there’s no place to hide,
New familiar faces,
Lie on the lighter side.
On Christmas Day those far away
Remind me of the love
A prayer and an epistle
On the wings of a dove.
