Fairness

That is the answer.

Prejudice and narrow mindedness
Destructive and derisive
Cutting discrimination to the bone
And abysmally divisive.

Lack of tolerance
On the grounds of age, race, or sex
Cultivation of misogyny
With dire unwanted effects.

Fear of the unknown
And xenophobic traits
Seeing ghosts and miscreants
Through a little murky haze.

Fairness is the answer.
To listen and intercept
And discard senseless bigotry.
And learn how to accept.

Easier said than done
Rivers run so deep
And often points of view
Into the senses creep.

Love can be the answer.
Acceptance the panacea
Taken in liberal doses
Dispels a preconceived idea.

Raise our hands in acceptance.
Together we will grow.
Don’t wait until tomorrow.
Please do it now and grow.
