Fields of Diamonds
On the ocean
Oceans stretch before my eyes
fields full of sparkling diamonds
the moods of the ocean and roiling skies
thunder turns to sounds of silence.
Out at sea, my eyes can see
shimmering waves on the horizon
they dance a rhythm of their own
a rare spectacle I rely upon
The scene paints images in my mind
of a wild, untamed nature
moving onward in ecstasy
master class from her creator.
And when it rains, the sea reflects
the dark and moody chambers
holding the forlorn sailors
stark reminders of her dangers.
From silvery calm to thundering waves
the wind moves against the currents
the darkest corners of the deep
feel subterranean interference.
I sit beside the shore and watch
the waves lap upon the sand
and feel a deep connection
and supernatural strands.
I watch the fields of diamonds
play music on my heartstrings
and saturate my mind with yearnings
then lift me skyward on her wings.
