Freedom

From expectations

Let it be, let it be
The world is more than you and me
Although we pray that we will stay
We must see; we must be free

I work hard to clear the yard.
Of weeds that breed on greed
They spoil the scene. I make serene
The flowers I grow from seed

I cannot mess with nature.
Though time and time again
We wreck what we should nurture.
The need for greed by men

We make a vow that we will plough
The fields, to yield forever
And will get back to you, and I
The answer, we should never

Loaded with expectations
We fill our lives with hope.
The dish of fish that we wish
May swim off and elope.

And so, I go where I know
There is love, hope, and charity
Past the last thought in my mind
As I search for clarity

Freedom from expectations
However long the song
Vibrates past so very fast
To where I do belong

Searching and researching
The answers in the breeze
Blowing from the hilltops
I stop and then say, “please.”
