I hear the time is coming.
knocking on the door
Will it be the answer?
What have I there in store?

Pictures of perfection
rarefied and raw
irreconcilable appearances
houses made of straw.

Abashed and then abandoned
an unattainable premise
reaching for the sky
in the streets of Venice

Feelings of fascination
the need for wanting more
flattened by emotion
Underscores the fatal flaw

Decked out in danger
misheard or mistaken
The error that leads to terror
The fatal flaw taken

A sudden gust of wind
a short storm upon the way
fast and fatally flawed
Pray for another day.

In Aristotle’s poetics
Hamartia’s Hero’s fatal flaw
committed in ignorance
It does not know what’s in store.

Ignorance of outcomes
fate knocking on the door
with all the best intentions
the fatal flaw
