I Push the Buttons

Electronic attitude.

Meet my computer Mac
Although I push the buttons
It has an electronic attitude
One of many cyber gluttons.

He’s made friends with my iPhone
They chat and exchange news
They both have minds of their own
And electronic views.

When I leave them together
They eat the gigabytes
And fill my heart with dread
And bills brim-full of frights.

I cannot speak their language
They come from cyberspace
And are not even vaguely related
To the human race.

And then, I bought an iPad
To complete the electronic trio
Though all I need’s a Panadol
And a one-way trip to Rio.

If you see me wandering round
Tearing out my hair
It is most likely I’ve had another
Electronic scare.

I took it to a doctor
To back up the hard drive
But when he pressed the buttons
It took the final dive.

All data was erased
In the winking of an eye
I know that my electronics
Would like to curl up and die.
