I Write a Bite

And leave the night.

Thank you, Veronica Hearn, for photographing part of your beautiful Tasmanian garden.

I write a bite and leave the night
as morning fills the air
and let my thoughts not be caught
within my Dreamtime lair

I embrace the flowers face
That opens to the sun
The birds and bees and harmonies
A new life has begun

And as they start, I feel my heart
Beat and feel the heat
And since you’ve gone, I carry on
As my head controls my feet

In pain, there’s gain, and I obtain
A sign that’s mine to hold
And feel the feign fragility
In the mystery that will unfold

Friends and family float away
Blues the daily news
We live and give and forgive
Life is not a game of pick and choose.

I’m here to say I love you
The words are loud and clear
All my friends that make amends
To me, you are so dear

I enjoy this virtual place
A space where I reside
And thank you and me too
There is no place to hide
