There are images of imaginary
For all eyes to see
The entrance by glass sliding doors
There is no viewing fee.

We wander down the avenues
The corridors of invention
There before our eyes
Defies normal convention.

Inventiveness is rampant
The artworks on display
At the National Gallery
Where we spent part of our day.

Outside in the cool ambiance
Of the late Canberra afternoon
We stroll down by the lakeside
I’m over the moon.

The scenery is exquisite
It floats before my eyes
I gravitate to ecstasy
Behind my hidden sighs.

We walk and talk and wander
Then make I make a bed for one
I slip into oblivion
As the day is done.

Outside in the atmosphere
On this fresh Capital morning
Whilst she sleeps soundly in her bed
I’ve risen without warning.

The imagery is electric
The moment fills my soul
I arrived a part enigma
Now answer the roll call.
