In a Place

Inside my garden

Photograph thanks to L. Pearson.

Taking time to create my garden
To please my eye and satisfy
Beautiful surroundings
Nature doesn’t even try.

Basic beauty for the taking
In the trees, garden, and breeze
And stretches over the ocean.
To the seven seas.

It seeps into my window.
A golden glow starts up each day.
Embossing clouds in crimson
Floats gently on her way.

I feel that raw beauty.
A beacon and a ray
On the highway to happiness
A place I love to stay.

In my mind, I know I find
From what I feel and see
The world and those around me
Where I prefer to be.

In a place inside my garden
Free of calamity
Of artificial intrusions
A place I can be free.

Raw beauty is the elixir.
That spices my senses as I search.
For a place of quiet and tranquillity
Inside my carapace, my church.
