In the Air

Take special care

I never saw you coming,
You’re somewhere in the air,
Your transmission can be lethal,
I must take special care.

You are the silent killer,
And I must be beware,
The unseen assassin,
That can strike anywhere.

Your presence is so painful,
You can be here or there,
You’re in the breeze we’re on our knees,
And constantly aware.

You dominate the airwaves,
You flood the headline news,
As we all run for cover,
We still have no clues.

If there’ll be a vaccination,
To trap you in your lair,
As you can lie undetected,
Then are carried in the air.

You float until infection,
Finds a place to lodge,
And because you are invisible,
You’re very hard to dodge.

The time in isolation,
Days drown and disappear,
We all need somebody,
Yet the end is far from clear.

So, I know with patience,
And taking extra care,
I can help to beat this fleet footed,
Assassin in the air.
