In those Incandescent Moments

Isolation and the nation.

I sigh and my thoughts multiply
topple then they fall
then on the floor I find some more
that drive me up the wall.

I sort some out and substitute
the one’s that lost their way
in those incandescent moments
the thoughts that want their say.

And then my mind meanders
the world has up and changed
isolation and the nation
upside down and rearranged.

I miss my friends and family
and that oh so familiar touch
the hug and kiss that’s now amiss
I miss so very much.

I wonder if a new normal
will ever be the same
and that adaption
is now the new game.

Some like sheep like to creep
outside to join the herd
and fly into another’s arms
or drift off like a bird.

Some of us are satisfied
whilst many find it hard
confined and defined
here in the back yard.

Into the wild blue yonder
anywhere but home
in those incandescent moments
my lone heart yearns to roam.
