Inch by Inch
The day eclipsed.
Inch by inch, the day eclipsed
discarded into dust
dusk advanced in a dance
then went in a wind gust.
Daylight done to sinking sun
darkness wraps her cloak
around nighttime nuances
gone in a puff of smoke.
In entire darkness
lacking illumination
blind can find their way
through reinterpretation.
Some disappear into darkness
others come alive
swim amongst the shadows
then glide in a swan dive.
I saw you in the shadows
you drifted like a ghost
entirely personified
from my observation post.
Love is a latent mystery
often too dark to see
oscillating in the senses
longing to be free.
In the morning glimmer
threads of silver light
illuminate entireties
left hanging here last night.
I watch and wait, then it is late
Shadows shade the sky
A passing star from afar
stutters with a sigh
That’s when I sense the recompense
And become the morning sun
and I know from seeds I sow
You are the only one
