Insurrection
Is guaranteed to fail
Amidst the pain and heartache
the virus and short breaths
a monster walks amongst us
regardless of the deaths.
This mad megalomaniac
and his spoilt boy belief
screams for insurrection
when we all need relief.
Shames the name and the game
he’s narcisstic and cruel
the whole world is watching
his obsession to rule.
I hope and pray and can only say
though I’m far away
this breed of extremism
is the scourge of the day.
Where there is love there is hope
and that in the end those can bend
and realise common sense and kindness
is the only way to mend.
In every nook and cranny
all over the universe
it’s time to end this chaos
that is the greatest curse.
It’s time for law and order
and good sense to prevail
and know that this insurrection
is guaranteed to fail.
I hope for every man, each woman and child
of any denomination, colour or creed
to denounce this violence
from this poison seed.
