Jabberwocky

Words.

In verse, words intertwined.
Skeletons of a new story
Strung together to find
The ode in all its glory

I slipper a lamp
At night on the Ark
In the cold and soggy damp
With Marmalade, my cat,

She never learnt to bark
I held my trusty dictionary.
And bunked down in the cabin.
Marmalade is quite the contrary.

And as I drift into sleep
I gather dreams by the heap
Most are weird and wacky
And make me want to leap

On the Ark, I found a horse
And escaped the wild inferno
Took her from her box by force
And spurred her off to Lugarno

This is my dream and fairy tale
All will be different when I wake
This weird verse is not for sale
So, lighten up, for goodness’s sake.

Jabberwocky* may need to be clarified.
In any shape or form
Often written in the wrong tense
Bound to kick up a storm.
