Less is Best

A poem of enough

Less is best it stands the test
more can be too much
life’s the place to invest
less is a softer touch.

For the tough just enough,
is barely adequate,
there’s the moon the sun and stars
it never is too late.

Finding fun on the run,
has its limits too,
seeking satisfaction
in something that is new.

There is wealth done by stealth
or hard work and toil
often pelf inflicts one’s health
the taint causes turmoil.

Less is best, forget the rest
more can be a bore,
less will always stand the test
more often breaks the law.

The beauty of a sunrise,
stars that shine at night
feeling good when I arise
to greet the morning light.

To work and play around the Bay
then travel far out west
it’s lovely just to get away
and feel satisfied with less.

Less is bound to reduce stress,
more walks out the door,
undoubtedly less is best,
though many ask for more.
