Living in the Now

New attitudes and views.

Ebbing from my memory
The tides of yesterday
Gone forevermore
Have up and flown away.

Gathered in the basket
The thoughts and repartees
In the light of a new day
Are blown in the breeze.

Carried to the edges
And corners of my mind
The importance is gathered
The rest is left behind.

I read it in the paper
Then, I heard it on the news
Now it’s been replaced
By new attitudes and views.

Yesterday hangs suspended
Then in the new dawn
You unfurl butterfly wings
A new beauty is born.

Was it really, yesterday?
How the time has flown
Time seems to evaporate
In a volition of her own.

Living in the now
Dispensing with the blues
Moving through the moments
Of yesterday’s past news.
