Monstera Deliciosa

Parts of art and charcoal

Parts of art and charcoal,
The squeeze and ease of paint,
Flowing on the canvas,
Feint with no constraint.

The Monstera Deliciosa,
Perfect perforated leaves,
Design and decoration,
Grew underneath our eaves.

Unfolded on an easel,
The artists steady hand,
Care in the creation,
The result is on the stand.

Growing in our garden,
The times when I was young,
Climbing trees, scraping knees,
The taste upon my tongue.

A mood of sheer amazement,
And my imagination,
Dreaming of adventure,
And feeling the elation.

Of carefully connecting,
Discovery and thinking,
The things that make me happy,
Holding hands and linking.

The breeze rippling the water,
The sand and the seaweed,
Sinking slowly in the sea,
And having what I need.

Dreams that seem they’re real,
The joy in a young mind,
That plant growing in my garden,
Leaving fear behind.
