More Blasts From the Past. Halcyon Days
Please bring them back
Please bring them back, bring them back
Those halcyon days that I remember
Summer days and endless fun
From January to December
Please bring them back, bring them back.
To a time that I remember
When life was oh so sweet
A campfire and burning ember
As water slides under the bridge
My mind will often wander
Back to times when life was sweet
And I still muse and wonder
If those sweet days of carelessness
Have cracked and gone asunder
Or do they wait for the sweet caress
Of a storm and distant thunder
Those golden days colour my mind.
In peaceful settings, tranquil
Flowers of great delicacy
The fragrance of a Jonquil
A grassy bank, a burbling brook
The warbling of a bird
Are things that my mind deeply yearns
Soft sounds I’ve rarely heard
Halcyon days with greater depth
Are you out there and a’ waiting
Upon a leafy shrouded path
Sensations in the making
A golden beach, an endless sky
The sea breeze a’ rippling
Waters of deep harmony
The palette of life is stippling
Halcyon days are here to stay.
Of magical perception
Abounding in the secret bay
An immaculate conception
Of natures synchronicity
A remarkable inception
And perfection in simplicity
Halcyon days without exception
