My Heart and Spirit

Fly

Summer slowly slips away.
The heat from my head to my feet
In the dawn, fresh on the lawn
Dew drops fall and meet.

The sky has new resplendence.
Washed clear by late summer breezes
Waves on the Bay glisten and dance
The moment stops and freezes.

Reaching out and touching
A new clarity and mind’s eye
Beauty so closely I am holding.
My heart and spirit fly.

A cathedral of trees above
Filter the soft pink rising sun.
Elements join and acquiesce.
Silverfish are on the run.

Connected to magical moments
Effects etched into my soul
Aware of infinitesimal movements
The moves that make me whole

I hold beams of sunlight.
As my fingers touch the sky
No longer do I question
Reasons why I laugh and cry.

Places my heart embraces
And seasons with less sun
the places with the traces
Autumn winds are on the run.

I saw you walk into my heart
You flew in on the breeze
Into the arms of autumn
And whispered through the trees
