My Mind

Thoughts.

Thoughts keep whirling through my mind.
Is this a dream I live in
Sometimes, my mind is miles away
And I wonder where I’ve been

Too much choice is dangerous
Limitations can hamper conception
The ideas and thoughts that fly around
Can cloud and hamper pure perception

Burning up excess amounts of energy
Can relieve my addled mind
And spending time in the great outdoors
Helps me to leave thoughts behind

Caught in the spinning vortex
The merry-go-round twists out of control
So fast the world tips upside down
A mad gyrating rock-and-roll

On the other side of sanity
The green pastures stretch so far
The mind is eased and quietened down
And we know who we are

Take me to the place once more
Where peace and tranquility abound
A place of smoothness and serenity
And place my feet back on the ground
