Naked Take

Of Normalcy.

Singing songs of sanity
Singing songs of pie
Waking up I won’t disrupt
I wouldn’t even try.

Naked take of normalcy
Rub-a-dub, we’re in the tub.
Eating a honey sandwich
Give my back a rub.

Reading all about it
In the daily news
All too much for the mind
The turning of the screws.

Keeping up appearances
Morning exercise routine
Getting puffed, that’s enough.
You know what I mean.

Seeking out the right attire
Watching P’s and Q’s
Wearing hair and hats in pairs
And just the right shoes.

Sizzling in summer
Sleeping like logs
Dipping in the salty brine
Discarding our togs.

Life can be so beautiful
phantasmagorical
Then it’s time to laugh
And consult the oracle.
