Pauses

For reflection.

Pauses for reflection,
Passes by the mirror tell,
A nuance or inflection,
Feelings I can’t quell.

Listening to others,
Words that mean so much,
Both sisters and brothers,
We try to stay in touch.

Picking up the pieces,
Trying hard to find,
The pain that loves releases,
How my life’s designed.

Meting out the mystery,
Finding what is right,
Delving through history,
Dealing with the night.

Printing it on paper,
Penning one more poem,
Enjoying the caper,
Never feeling alone.

Some are lost and the cost,
Cannot be measured till,
Once again, the line is crossed,
A matter of pure will.

Scenes that scream for sanity,
A place for everything,
Love learned from humanity,
And the benefits they bring.

Pauses for reflection,
The ripples on the lake,
Yearnings for perfection,
The time that it may take.
