Raindrops from the Sky

Springtime

As my mind moves and meanders
and walks untrodden ground
I kneel down and touch the earth
and know that I have found.

Another place another space
from this mad, mad world
where stillness equals sanctity
and the future is unfurled.

There’s quietness in a whisper
and magic in the air
flowers in the garden
and love is everywhere.

In this land down under
spring has sprung again
fresh green shoots grown from roots
sprout from melting rain.

Grass spreads like a blanket
a scene seen in a dream
a swathe of satisfaction
deep luscious and green.

Inside my mind what was a bind
is blown by the breeze
across the waters of the Bay
and flutters in the trees.

Pieces of the past elapse
as winter wisps away
and a scope of rising hope
moves and makes her way.

I watch and wait and imitate
the elements that fly
before my eyes and taste the prize
raindrops from the sky.
