Said With Grace

Savoir Faire.

Said with grace, the interlace,
of polish and aplomb,
diplomatic delicacy,
The best under the sun.

Smoothness and style,
urbane sophistication,
in social situations,
Ultimate discretion.

Savoir faire if you dare,
Pass the pleasure, please
Do it with aplomb, my dear,
Not down on your knees.

I watched the wind evaporate,
And felt the heat below,
It’s torture in the tropics,
I live there, I should know.

Sailing past the sinking sun,
then entering the night,
Stars appear. It’s so clear,
Articulate and bright.

Wash away my worries,
in the salty sea,
Where gulls fly suspended,
And feel completely free.

Savoir faire is in the air,
a place of poise and grace,
seen behind discerning grins,
And smiles upon my face.

In social situations,
Some stop and stare,
Others have the part and polish,
to know its Savoir faire.
