Sequestered

Living in a quieter world

There’s a place I can race
when thoughts are caught between
living in a quieter world
that’s not seen on a screen.

In these quieter moments
I find my thoughts can seep
into sequestered hideaways
a river wide and deep.

Where my mind is satisfied
far from the rat race
and ideas are magnified
as I move to a new place.

Feelings I’ve had hidden
can emerge from the haze
into a place that is mine
where moments turn to days.

I keep my mind sequestered
where no one else has been
a place I feel peaceful
in another scene.

And drink the magic moments
often visualised
a fortune rare as diamonds
changed and crystallised.

Pieces of the past transform
and autumn turns to gold
in a world sequestered
a place out of the cold.

Where happiness is harnessed
far from the push and shove
an experiential feeling
the precious gift of love.
