Serenity

Where hope eternal springs.

Down amongst the dead men,
Deep down in the earth,
With a whisper in the air,
And a wistful smile of mirth.

Sweet smooth serenity,
At peace atop a hill,
From here to eternity,
The heavens have their will.

We watch wander and ponder,
How other lives were lived,
Far out in the blue yonder,
Today some spirits have survived.

In the heat of summer,
On a January day,
Where we disappear to,
No one can say.

At peace each piece and somewhere,
Nature’s angels sing,
Love is here and everywhere,
Whoever peace will bring.

Fast as the last heartbeat,
Slow as the evening dusk,
All laid out and oh so neat,
Free of the evening rush.

In the centre proud and free,
She spreads her boughs like angel’s wings,
In Amidst the ghosts a grand old tree,
Where hope eternal springs.

Sweet smooth serenity,
We wind up then dip right down,
Changing in identity,
As Summer wears her gown.
