Speak to Me

In music

Please speak to me in music.
So much easier to understand
I was then searching for the words.
Strike up the language band.

From pop tunes to symphonies
There are always hidden meanings.
A language deep within my soul
I am defining likes and leanings.

A song inside my mind
In constant repetition
The rhythm in my head
I was playing of my own volition.

Memories of moments
And languages of love
In musical composition
Hand in a silken glove.

The easy way of saying
What I feel
Exposing the true feelings
By scraping off the peel.

The centre of existence
A personal rhythm, stick
A habit inborn in the soul
Impossible to kick.

When you’re far away
The song travels o’er the air.
The continents and oceans
Solace when you’re not there.

Let’s speak our secret language.
In song fugues and symphonies
An arcane personal discussion
With no contingencies.

It has been sung in Opera.
Ever since we can remember
Why not make it the new language?
We speak from January to December.
