Symbolic

Insinuations.

I’ve never kissed a catfish
Or waxed lyrical with an alligator
Yet allegorical alliterations
I’ll always use, it sooner than later.

A metaphor is what’s used for
An allegorical adjective
Symbolic insinuations
It makes my rhymes imaginative.

I can fly away on the wings
Of creative sanction and consent
And tell it how my mind works
And now it keeps me content.

My mind unravels mysteries
Dreams are unconscious ideas
Springing from wells of experiences
The passions and the fears.

Five minutes of sanctity
Solace and solitude
Recalls the meaning
Of my inner attitude.

Corners carry caution
Clouds can coincide
White horses on the ocean
Are steeds I want to ride.

Sometimes I wish I were a fish
A dolphin in the sea
Playing in a pod of passion
Do you dare to swim with me?

Allegorical is emblematic
Some fish fly and others swim
I change my mind about the scene and sense
Just on a fleeting whim.

The raven I am saving
For another time
In the snow, known to Poe
Within his cursive rhyme.
