David, I loved your poignant, poetic thoughts on friends. I must be an odd bird, because I I rarely have friendships outside of family. My family friendships are so precious and all-consuming that I don't seem to have time for anything else. Except, of course, for the wonderful people I have met and built a community with on Medium - I certainly count them as friends.
