The Feeling
Of belonging
The festive season is the reason
We think of friends near and far
Like my special friends on Medium
I can’t visit in my car
It’s nice to be amongst good friends.
And share joy and bonhomie.
Pleasantry and affability
And goodwill around family.
Families are the special ones.
Connections are so strong.
We have a long history.
And know what’s right from wrong.
The season was so lovely.
I am feeling an integral part.
The family that means so much to me
Right from the very start.
To those who are no longer with us.
Their spirit lingers on.
They helped bring us all together.
We could bestow an award upon.
The sense of conviviality
That welds family for all days
With loved ones, now present.
We see them through the haze.
We enjoy the close companionship.
And a feeling of belonging.
As years slip subtly past
We create a new beginning.
Thank you all. You made my day.
And completed this festive season.
With goodwill and conviviality
Being the only voice of reason.
