The Invisible Thread
That binds us.
I know I cannot see you
Though you appear in my mind’s eye
The invisible thread that binds us
Before my eye flies by.
Out of sight though not of mind
You dwell deep down in my soul
It seems in dreams we’re together
Though there’s part of me you stole.
I can feel you in the morning mist
In familiar and natural ways
You’re part of the landscape of my heart
And stream in on the morning sun rays.
Together my world is expanded
My senses tune to a new tone
We see through each other’s eyes
Even when we are alone.
I see you on the wings of a tiny bird
A hum and blur flit past my face
And our innate love of nature
Flights past the night I can trace.
The glint of diamonds on the ocean
Sparkle with optimism and light
The moon and rune a yellow balloon
It is guiding us through the night.
The passion and the plunder
The bliss of our last kiss
Is the way I wonder
And the recipe I miss.
I know that I cannot see you
Though you’re here in my mind’s eye
The invisible thread that binds us
Before my eye flies by.
