The Ionian Sea

Drifting out of sight

Far past the fast ionosphere
where ions float bout free
a song sung through the stratosphere
the blue Ionian Sea.

Toes that know the temperature
mobs of marching ants
rearrange the furniture
it seems it’s time to dance.

Let’s reminisce on a kiss
as love splinters the air
if we were two it would be bliss
my whispered silent prayer.

The view is new, the sky is blue
the breeze drifts through your hair
a glaze and maze afar on cue
love is in the air.

Leave it to the gods the odds
are sure to chase a chance
please the peas lined in the pods,
dance to a new romance.

Free of friction free of fear
aligned by the stars and signs
full ahead the way is clear
we read between the lines.

So, my love the push and shove
slowly evaporates
now on the wings of a dove
in a language that translates.

Into myth and mystery
drifting out of sight
on the blue Ionian Sea
into the endless night.
