The Pillars
Of sustainability
We may march past the past
And sigh with a blind eye
Though we sow what we know
Or let the planet die
We need to learn that a bit of fern
Or mighty forest tree
Bleed and are in need
longing to be free
The pillars of sustainability
Within environmental limits
The ability to endure
And last the longer distance.
Having the capacity
For natural endurance
Upheld and defended
With civility and patience.
Involved in the long term
Maintenance of responsibility
And diverse dimensions
Are surrounded by our ability
Environmental and economical
And within the social capacity.
The ecological balance
upheld with due veracity
Within the world, we live in
And relationships with others.
Joined in arms of sustainability
With our eternal brothers.
