The Road

Has a code

Is it something you said to me?
That’s lodged within my mind.
Or a feeling I picked up on the way
And they are never left behind.

Reminiscence hovers overhead
Thoughts found and kept for good.
Some pique OK feelings from the past.
Others never understood.

Daydreams that float past my eyes
Move sideways and eclipse
The words that I’m now thinking
Appear upon your lips.

Is it synchronicity?
A simple thought transference
Or can you read my mind?
If so, what is the inference?

In the lake’s reflection
I cast my mind into the deep.
Fishing for ripples and recollections
Being caught in my deep sleep

I reminisce and find true bliss.
In happiness and harmony
I was standing on the edge of heaven.
Out on nature’s balcony

Pieces of the past appear.
Mere moments on the map
I reminisce, however. Don’t miss
The places where I’m at

Sometimes lives like limbo land.
Neither here nor there
I watch the seconds slip on by
Like clouds up in the air.

The road has a code
We all try to read
Where it leads to, in the blue
Like a floating seed.
