The Slender Arms
Of branches
I stand and stare up into the air
The treetops sway and dance
They captivate my heart and soul
And I always take the chance.
To watch the unique performance
As the lissom limbs bend to and fro
A salute swing and sonata
A soft serenade and swish rondeau.
The leaves quiver as the drum rolls.
Of draughts and rare air currents
And signal silver, gold, and green
In clear coherence and recurrence.
My mind is moved and sanctified
Into a dreamy trance-like state
And I am then transmogrified.
And I am accepting my fate.
My eyes are drawn to the treetops
The magic garden of my soul
I lie on my back on deep green grass
After a morning stroll.
I then forget disharmony
The trials, turmoil, and pain
And drink in the synchronicity
Of the sun, the wind and rain.
The slender arms of branches
Reach out and touch the sky
And wave and vibrate in the wind
And rustle with a sigh.
I watch in fascination
At the dance atop the trees
A rhythm never-ending
Generated by the breeze.
And hello there, I see a bear
A koala bear at best
Relaxing in the treetops
When he likes to take a rest
